General
Information
- Tax
statements are mailed in October either to the homeowner or the
mortage company. You have until Jan. 31 to pay without penalty
and interest. If you do not make your full payment by Jan. 31,
you will be charged penalty and interest starting Feb. 1. Penalty
begins at 6 percent and increases monthly to a maximum of 12 percent
in July. Interest accrues at 1 percent per month until the taxes
are paid in full. On July 1, any account that remains unpaid will
incur an additional collection fee equal to 15 percent fo the
total taxes, penalty and interest due.
- If
you have not received your tax statement by November 1, please
call the Tax Office at 817/481-1242.
- The
Tax Office accepts postmarks by the U.S. Post Office. If it is
the last day, we suggest you have the Post Office hand stamp your
envelope to ensure the correct date.
- If
the last day of the month falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal
holiday, the Property Tax Code Section 1.06 designates the next
regular business day as the deadline.
