Since our schools opening the Glenhope PTA has been instrumental in providing many items for our school that may not have become available through our school budget. These items include the Gator Marquee in front of our school; the covered pavilion on our playground; books for our literacy library; and a variety of classroom enrichment materials such as videos, technical equipment, books, and manipulatives to highlight only a few. In addition, at the September 2001 General PTA Meeting, the general membership voted to make a significant addition to our playground equipment. The PTA also supports cultural and educational opportunities for our students and their families through programs such as Arts and Reflections (a variety of writing, photography, drawing and musical competitions), Destination Imagination (an exercise in creative problem solving), Childrens Programs (a variety of programs in performing arts), Gator Tales ( a creative writing experience), and Science and Environmental (the EPA Poster Contest and Science Fair). And lastly, we work hard to provide simple fun for the whole family through such events as our Ice Cream Social, the Winter Beach Party, the Talent Show, and Field Day. Now heres
where we get to the fundraising part... Please note that the September 2001 "Greenback Night" (which was an outstanding success thanks to all our generous, committed families) is not a part of the PTA, but instead is used to supplement the School Activity Fund. Also, there are grade level sales, such as the fourth grade annual wrapping paper sale which helps fund their trip to Sky Ranch. These grade level sales are also not a part of the PTA. Please feel free to contact the PTA with any concerns and questions about our fundraising efforts. And please be sure to participate in the fundraising programs which cost you nothing, namely the Tom Thumb/Kroger/Albertsons rebate programs and Campbells Soup Labels. Thank you! |
