• GCISD closed for winter break
GCISD campuses and administrative offices will be closed from Dec.
21-Jan. 1 for winter break. Teachers and employees return Jan. 2;
students return Jan. 4.

GHS offers parenting workshop
The GHS counseling department is offering a complimentary workshop
at Grapevine Elementary School to help parents raise teenagers in
the 21st century. In order to register, please complete a registration
form in the GHS Counseling Office and return it to the GHS Counseling
Office by Jan. 8, 2007.
Workshop
– Becoming a Love and Logic Parent
Dates – Thursday evenings: Jan. 11, 18, Feb. 1, 8, 22 and
March 1st.
Time – 6:15-8:15 p.m.
Location – Grapevine Elementary, 1801 Hall-Johnson Rd.

Registration begins for next TARGET session
Registration begins Jan. 12 for session 3 of GCISD’s TARGET
evening classes for high school credit. Basic courses are offered
to allow students to catch up on credits, advance in order to graduate
early or open a section of their normal schedule to take another
course of their choice. The session runs from Jan. 29-March 8 and
classes are held at Bridges Accelerated Learning Center, 736 E.
Northwest Highway in Grapevine. Cost for the one-semester class
is $200 for GCISD students and $250 for students from other districts.
A $10 non-refundable registration fee will be charged per student.
Checks, money orders and cash are accepted in person; MasterCard,
Visa and Discover are accepted by fax at 817-251-5477. The next
session will be April 2-May 10, with registration beginning March

PTA/PTSA meetings
Grapevine High – General meeting, noon Jan. 22 in the GHS
Library.
Grapevine High – Officer elections, 6 p.m. March 5 in the
GHS Student Activities Center. GHS Open House event will follow
at 6:30 p.m.
Grapevine High – Honors and awards presented, 7 p.m. May 14.
Awards and Announcements
• GMS students wins spelling bee for second consecutive
year
Raamis Khwaja won the Grapevine Middle School Geography Bee. Raamis
is an 8th grade student who has won the Grapevine Middle Geography
Bee for the second year in a row, and also placed 11th in the state
in last year's competition.

CHHS AP art students work selected for exhibit
Four AP art students from CHHS will have their artwork exibited
at the Young Masters Exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. Every
year our CHHS A.P. Ten high schools were invited to enter this competion
and hundreds of slides of artwork are sent to be juried for this
show. Only 36 are chosen to be included in the show and the four
CHHS students are among those. The students Emily Bass, Tim Gwartney,
Kittie Peters and Davis Rutkauskas.
