Student art selected for holiday card cover
Artwork by Bransford Elementary School student Ellen Colborn was selected to be used as the cover of GCISD's annual holiday greeting card.
Ellen, a 4th grader, received a surprise visit her classroom from Executive Director of Administration Patti Davis, who announced that Ellen's card had been selected and presented her with a $25 gift card to Target.
Her winning artwork is one of approximately 500 designs submitted; all are on display throughout December in the Gallery of the Administration building at 3051 Ira E. Woods.
Each year elementary students are invited to submit holiday-themed cards for the District to use during the upcoming holiday season. Art teachers work with the students in the fall and then submit the art by campus. Winning cards are selected by a committee of district employees on the basis of originality, theme and use of colors.
