• GCISD Summer Enrichment
GCISD’s Summer Enrichment program is underway for kids in
kindergarten through eighth grade. The program, “Explore and
Discover Summer,” offers a variety of classes including fine
arts, cooking, cultural studies, math and science, social skills,
sports/recreation and technology. The program continues through
the week of July 16. Information about GCISD summer programs is

GCISD offices closed in July
GCISD Administrative offices and campuses will be closed July 2-6.
There will be no Summer Enrichment activities during this time.
KidzU Camp will be closed July 4 only. Administrative summer hours
will resume on July 9, with offices open from 7:30 a.m.-5:15 p.m.
Mondays-Thursdays. Offices and campuses will continue to be closed
on Fridays through Aug. 10.

GCISD job fairs scheduled in July
The Human Resources Department will be hosting three job fairs in
July seeking individuals interested in paraprofessional, custodial
and nutrition services positions. Information is posted on the GCISD
website, www.gcisd-k12.org/job/jobfair.htm, or by calling
817-251-5541. The times and dates are:
Custodial
Services Job Fair – 3-7 p.m. July 11-12, GCISD Administration
Building.
Paraprofessional Job Fair – 9 a.m.-Noon July 21, Grapevine
Elementary School.
Nutrition Services Job Fair – 9-11 a.m. July 30, Grapevine
Middle School.

Summer School graduation
Graduation ceremonies for Summer School students will be 10 a.m.
July 12 in the Grapevine Middle School cafeteria. Information: 817-251-5660.

GCISD registration for 2007-2008
Registration for GCISD campuses begins in July. Dates, times and
other pertinent back-to-school information for specific campuses
is available on the district’s web site, www.gcisd-k12.org/pr/backtoschool.htm.
The first day of school is Aug. 27.

and Announcements
• Season tickets for varsity football on sale
Season tickets for Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine High varsity
football games will go on sale for current season-ticket holders
beginning August 6 at the GCISD Swim Center, 2305 Pool Road in Grapevine.
Reserved ticket sales will open to the general public beginning
Aug. 20. From Aug. 6-31, reserved tickets may be purchased from
8 a.m.-Noon and 4-6 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, and 8 a.m.-Noon Fridays.
Beginning Sept. 4, tickets will be on sale from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays
and 8 a.m.-Noon Fridays. Cost is $40 per seat for the five-game
packet, payable by cash or check only. General admission tickets
will be available the week of each game. Information: 817-251-5350

Problem solvers earn top spots in international contest
Students from Heritage and Grapevine middle schools placed second
and fourth, respectively, in the International Future Problem Solving
Competition. The eighth-grade community problem solving team from
HMS placed second in the Human Services category in their division.
They are coached by Pam Jones. In addition, Michele Newman of GMS
placed fourth in the team scenario writing contest. She is coached
by Carolyn Forbes. GCISD Trustees recognized these students for
their accomplishments in May.

GCISD schools, stadium closed for summer
Thirteen schools and Mustang-Panther Stadium remain closed to the
public through Aug. 20 so that renovations and additions included
in the 2005 Bond program may be expedited. During this time, no
campus staff will be working in the buildings. Existing campus phone
numbers will remain in operation and campus staff will be checking
