    CMS DI team earns top award in global competition

    Colleyville Middle School's 8th grade Destination ImagiNation team placed 1st in the middle school category at the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals at the University of Tennessee May 21-24. The team competed against more than 50 middle school teams from all over the world in the "Switch" challenge.

    Class of '08 Valedictorians and Salutatorians named for GCISD

    The five highest ranked students at Grapevine- Colleyville ISD's two high schools have been named Valedictorians and Salutatorians of the Class of 2008. The Valedictorian is the student scholar with the highest grade point average for four years of high school. Salutatorian is the student with the second- highest grade point average.This year, GCISD also is pleased to recognize a Grapevine High School student who has completed her high school course work in three years.

    At Colleyville Heritage High, Christina Wray is Valedictorian and Shelby Margaret Lee is Salutatorian. At Grapevine High, Tyler Scott Franklin is Valedictorian, Anjali Datta is Valedictorian--Three-Year, and Brigit Holland is Salutatorian.

    Bridges students graduate tonight (May 27)

    Students from Bridges Learning Center will receive diplomas in a graduation ceremony tonight at 7 p.m. The ceremony will be held at Colleyville Community Center and will recognize 48 spring graduates, as well as six summer graduates. Nine students will speak about their experiences as Bridges students.

    Graduation for Grapevine High and Colleyville Heritage High students is on Saturday, June 7, Dallas Convention Center, with GHS at 10 a.m. and CHHS at 2 p.m

    GCISD has a variety of exciting events and activities happening every week at campuses throughout the District. From PTA meetings and school programs to District celebrations and student achievements, you're sure to find something in Around the District.

    Early dismissal dates for last week of school

    The last day of school for the 2007-08 school year is Wednesday, June 4. High school students will be released at 12:05 p.m. on June 2 and June 3, and at 10:50 a.m. on June 4. Middle school students will be released at 11:20 a.m. on June 3 & 4. Elementary school students will be released at 12 p.m. on June 4.

    2008 Academic Recognition Banquet set for June 5

    Top graduating students from Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine high schools will be recognized as Distinguished Scholars at the 2008 Academic Recognition Banquet on June 5. In addition, each honored graduate will recognize a teacher who has significantly influenced his or her education and life.

    The Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation hosts the event, which also will include recognition of the 17 campus Teachers of the Year, the two District Teachers of the Year - Patti Rogers of Bransford Elementary, and Dan Oberlender of Cross Timbers Middle - as well as the 2008 recipient of the Foundation's Distinguished Friend of Education Award, John T. Eubanks.
