July/August: 

  • Define your preferred colleges of choice
    • Create a file for each school
  • Obtain as much information as possible on your colleges of choice
  • Create a master calendar with the following information for each school:
    • Test dates required by the college
    • Application due dates
    • Financial Aid due dates
    • Institutional Scholarship due dates
    • Senior preview days
  • Gather and record all information required to complete your resume as soon as possible
  • Schedule college visits (you have 2 college visit days as a senior)

  • Make an appointment with Go Center for your official Senior meeting
  • Follow our Twitter feed @GCISDGoCenters (we do not follow you back)
  • Submit your college applications to your colleges of choice (minimum 4) (see above)

November/December

  • Early Admissions deadline is November 1st by midnight for many schools
  • Check with your colleges of choice for their own financial aid priority deadlines
  • Submit all applications if you have not already

February/March

  • Check mail for Financial Aid award letters and compare final awards

  • Schedule college visits if you have not done so already

April/May

  • Decision Time!!
  • Send in a deposit to your selected school by the required deadline
  • Meet all upcoming deadlines for housing and financial commitments 
  • Inform Go Center assistant what school you've been accepted/committed to

June

  • Graduation! Congratulations!
